The Mackay Whitsunday Natural Resources assists small grants
project applicants to coordinate the effort across all the agents
who share interests around resolving these local issues and
provides advice to applicants on project design and assessment
criteria.
Project applicants are encouraged to seek specific project-based
scientific and technical advice from the diversity of specialist
sources in the regions scientific and natural resource management
community and government.
Project design and development becomes a ‘team
effort’ across a diversity of skills and interests.
In doing so, this function
- supports good governance practices,
- facilitates strategic investment in natural
resource management effort in alignment with Commonwealth,
State and regional priorities, and
- builds partnerships and collaboration around
shared solutions to NRM issues.
