Funding Grants available for Community Projects

The Mackay Whitsunday Natural Resources assists small grants project applicants to coordinate the effort across all the agents who share interests around resolving these local issues and provides advice to applicants on project design and assessment criteria.

Project applicants are encouraged to seek specific project-based scientific and technical advice from the diversity of specialist sources in the regions scientific and natural resource management community and government.

Project design and development becomes a ‘team effort’ across a diversity of skills and interests.

In doing so, this function

  • supports good governance practices,
  • facilitates strategic investment in natural resource management effort in alignment with Commonwealth, State  and regional priorities, and
  • builds partnerships and collaboration around shared solutions to NRM issues.
