Our Programs
Our business is conducted under 4 program themes.
Where an activity is placed within these is determined by which
natural resource issues are being addressed, and from which
Australian Government source the
funds are obtained to enable these projects to be
put into action as local solutions.
We participate in cross-regional projects with other regional
bodies, government agencies, and research groups.
The Mackay Whitsunday Natural Resource Management Group receives
Australian Government funds from the Natural Heritage
Trust and the National Landcare Programme.
Our group also facilitates the funding of small
community-based projects by promoting and supporting
community involvement in their development. Projects are developed
by the community to address local natural resource management
issues in ways which deliver both public benefit and environmental
solutions. These projects are funded by Envirofund,
Community Water Grants, Threatened Species
Network or Recreational
Fishing Grants.
